DNS server and its installation and configuration
1. DNS server installation
- Install the win 2003 service image into the CD drive of the virtual machine
2. Select "Start"------"Control Panel"-------"Add or Remove Programs"-----------"Add/Remove Windows Components", then select "Network Services" component, and then click the details button.
3. Open the DNS server configuration
2. Create DNS
1. Select "Start"-"Management Tools"-"DNS" and then select "DNS Server" and right-click "Forward Lookup Zone", select "New" from the menu area"
3. Create a new host resource record and create a DNS alias
1. Right-click xyz.com to create a new host

2. Enter the alias ftp in the dialog box that appears, and enter the full domain name of the host that the alias points to in the "Fully qualified domain name of the target host" text box. For example, www.xyz.com
**4. Create mail exchange records**
1. To establish a mail exchange, you must first establish a mail server host list. Right-click the xyz.com area and select "New Host".
2. Select the xyz.com area and select "New Mail Exchanger (MX)".
4. Create a subdomain
1. Right-click xyz.com, then select "New Domain" and enter the DNS domain name.
6. Establish reverse zone and create reverse record
1. Right-click "Reverse Lookup Zone" and select "New Zone".

1. Right-click the reverse zone you just created and select "New Pointer (PTR)".

8. Test DNS server
Enter nslookup on the command line and press Enter.
Test the www.xyz.com domain name.
Test ftp.xyz.com.
Test the domain name of the mail server.
