Design Solution of Convergence Payment Platform in Universities

1. The current situation and dilemma of traditional campus payment

In recent years, with the rapid development of schools, the scale of enrollment has also been expanding, various charging standards have been continuously improved, and the types of fees involved have also increased. The school's various charging models have gradually evolved from "on-site cash collection" to "semi-automatic charging model with bank card bulk deductions and cash supplements", and then to "cancellation of on-site fees and full implementation of bank card deductions The evolution process of "automatic charging model".

1.1 Payment status

1) The charging mode under the traditional method is mainly based on cash and POS. Long-term face-to-face on-site payment and payment, users have long waiting time, poor security, high risk, low work efficiency, and high management cost. At the same time, because there is no fee-charging auxiliary account, the query service cannot be provided, resulting in poor overall experience of the service target.

2) The charging mode under semi-automatic mode is mainly bank card commissioned withholding. In the past, large-scale charging stations no longer exist, and they were only set up selectively in the finance department. Although students may cause queuing when they are relatively concentrated, they have greatly improved from the former model, the safety of funds and work efficiency have been greatly improved, and risks and management costs have been greatly reduced. At this time, a relatively complete auxiliary fee account has been established. However, due to the confusion of cash fees, there are many human factors, and the probability of error is high, which leads to inaccurate query services provided. The convenience of financial transfer and the user's comprehensive experience still need to be further improved.

3) In the fully automatic charging mode, bank card withholding has been fully implemented, on-site charging has been completely cancelled, and the phenomenon of queuing has completely disappeared. The consistency of data, the safety of funds and the efficiency of work are guaranteed, the risks and management costs are reduced to a very low level, the probability of errors in auxiliary accounts is very small, the query service provided is basically accurate, the convenience of financial transfer and The comprehensive user experience has reached a high level.

1.2 Dilemma analysis

1) The pain of data management. Miscellaneous bills, different interfaces and management platforms, and abnormal reconciliations have caused difficulties for schools in IT management. In addition to technical problems, IT engineers also have to deal with the differences in data reconciliation.

2) Merchants, merchants, teachers and students have to pay. From the traditional cash payment method, merchants have to prepare a lot of change. If the store business is very good, teachers and students need to wait in line for settlement, which brings a lot of trouble to teachers and students. From the single campus card payment method, merchants need to be familiar with the use of POS machines. When a large number of teachers and students make settlements, it is inevitable that there will be misoperations, and teachers and students will also not have a campus card. Brought a lot of trouble. From a single two-dimensional code payment method, if the merchant only posted Alipay's two-dimensional code on the desktop, if the customer only pays with WeChat, there is no way to collect the payment.

3) The financial settlement pains of merchants and schools. After the business hours are over, you need to register the data on each POS machine in your notebook and then reconcile carefully, summarize the entire day's turnover, and then deduct the cost to know the profit of the day. If there is a slight error, there is no way to achieve accurate reconciliation, and sometimes the data calculated by the merchant and the data of the card system are inconsistent, which brings a lot of trouble to the financial settlement of the merchant and the school.

4) The pain of comprehensive card data analysis. From the earliest application of the campus card in the cafeteria, it has gradually been applied to book borrowing, water and electricity recharge, computer operation, etc. At present, most domestic universities have built campus card systems with different applications. However, the massive and complex data has brought great difficulties to the school administrators for their integration.

2. Proposal of a unified payment platform model for aggregating payment campus

The traditional offline payment method, the customer pays the merchant with cash, and the money goes directly to the merchant. In the era of mobile Internet, Alipay and WeChat payment on the mobile phone have become an emerging payment method that is easily accepted by the majority of consumers. In addition to the recent cloud flash payment QR code payment promoted by UnionPay and various commercial banks, it can be said that there are various payment methods . Consumers can scan codes offline, scan codes on the PC, and scan codes on the mobile. Traffic comes from multiple types of entrances. Business models are emerging in an endless stream, with continuous cross-border and multiple integration, and the payment scenarios involved have also undergone tremendous changes. At this time, the standard third-party payment model also ushered in a huge challenge. It was very similar to the situation in which the banks placed POS machines and their respective receipts. In today's increasingly diverse payment methods, merchants cannot fully connect with payment institutions. In terms of scene requirements, merchants need to provide consumers with a full scene and full payment and collection service. Therefore, a role is needed to meet the diversified needs of merchants, so that aggregate payment is born. To put it simply, aggregate payment is to provide merchants with an acquisition method, which allows merchants to accept payment applications from multiple payment institutions. The essence of aggregate payment is a payment service solution that solves common problems. Aggregated payment institutions rely on the payment channels and clearing capabilities of banks, third-party payment or clearing organizations to provide customers with payment services such as interfaces, integration, docking, order processing, and data statistics.

3. The overall architecture of the payment platform

In terms of architecture, the payment system is divided into three parts: product service, core system, and support system, as shown in Figure 1.

1) Product service: a system that combines services provided by the core layer to provide services to end users, merchants, and operation management personnel.

2) Core system: The core module of the payment system is divided into the payment core module and the payment service module.

3) Support system: the basic software package and infrastructure used to support the core system, including operation and maintenance monitoring, log analysis, etc.

4. Research on the countermeasures for the construction of a unified payment platform for colleges and universities based on the "three-merger" model

The aggregate payment platform provides a complete set of solutions. The goal of the design is to enable all fees paid by students during the school year to be completed through the platform, including living and service consumption, tuition fees, accommodation fees, and administrative management fees. The fee-paying users include current students and non-current students. The ultimate goal is to realize a true "cashless payment" through the application of a payment platform. A complete aggregate payment system with payment gateway, active reconciliation, refund gateway, and payment / Refund status query and other functional modules. Merchants who want to access aggregate payment must first register on the official website of the aggregate payment platform, and then provide the service license and organization code certificate to the aggregate payment service provider and select the required payment channel (Alipay, WeChat, UnionPay ...), Finally, after the payment permission application of each channel is successful, configure the channel parameters.

4.1 Aggregated payment methods to achieve an efficient payment model

In the past, various payment methods on campus have become a pain point for merchants, teachers and students. As early as the 1990s, due to the large number of acquiring banks, the merchant's cash register was filled with various POS machines. The problem of multiple machines in one cabinet became the most difficult problem for merchants. Until the emergence of China UnionPay, the universal network connection ended the problem of multiple machines in a cabinet. Although there are not a lot of POS machines now, the complicated QR codes are as dazzling as the original POS machines.

Under such a large background, in order to solve the pain points of merchants acquiring and scanning codes of teachers and students, aggregate payment came into being. Through the aggregate payment SDK, merchants can aggregate payment scenarios, payment methods, and payment channels, accept multiple forms of payment applications from multiple payment institutions, and adopt a unified payment interface to reduce access technical barriers, communication barriers, and channel costs. In order to achieve efficient and convenient payment access.

4.2 Converge the benign access between the school and the merchants to achieve convenient financial management

Aggregated payment uses an account with different permissions on a platform to track and maintain merchant transaction data in real time, which can reduce the cost of merchants when accessing and maintaining payment settlement services, improve the efficiency of merchant payment settlement systems, and eliminate the need for merchants and school management The troubles caused by settlement have greatly improved the effectiveness of school financial management.

4.3 Aggregate campus payment consumption data to realize real-time information management and massive data mining

The construction of campus paperless payment method gathers the consumption information of teachers and students in the canteen catering, supermarket shopping and other campuses in the campus card database in the form of aggregate payment. In campus information management, big data mining technology and cloud computing technology can be used on the basis of massive payment data to help merchants better understand consumers' consumption behavior, classify consumers, and target consumers according to their consumption characteristics and preferences. Formulate or improve marketing strategies and develop consumers' potential consumption needs, thereby helping merchants to obtain greater profits.

In the application process of the campus unified payment platform, in addition to technical means, the supporting construction of related management systems should also be emphasized. The system is a guarantee to ensure the implementation of technology. Therefore, by establishing a reasonable and strict internal control system, most platform users can get a safer and more convenient payment experience, thereby leading the school ’s overall payment work to go further on the scientific and standardized road. Far longer.
