Windows 10 closes recently used folders to clean up traces of usage

1. In the opened Windows10 File Explorer window, when you click Quick Access, you can see a recently used file, where you can display the 20 most recently used files.

   

2. To close the displayed recently used file function, you can click the file menu in the file explorer window

   

3. Click the "Change Folder and Search Options" menu item in the drop-down menu that opens.

   

4. In the folder options window that opens, click the "Clear" button.

   

5. This will clear the "Recently Used Files" list and clean up all the files shown earlier. However, files that will be used in the future will also be displayed in this folder.

   

6. If you want to completely turn off the recently used files function, return to the folder options window, and remove the checkmarks of "Show recently used files in quick access" and "Show frequently used folders in quick access".

   

7. After opening the quick access window again, the recently used files will no longer be displayed on the right.
