HUAWEI matebook X Pro Deepin Linux modified machine installed Ubuntu Linux notes

Original machine configuration

Matebook X Pro
processor i5
memory 8G
hard disk 512G
NVIDA GeForce MX250 unique display
system deepin 15.5 SP2 Professional Edition [installed]
low-profile, remote development dedicated machine, ready to install Ubuntu bare machine
Although DeepIn is also Linux, I am afraid that compatibility issues will occur Use Ubuntu as in the group

Two computers were used, the
former of macbook and matebook was used to burn U disk of Ubuntu [mainly the burning under deepin was unsuccessful] the
latter was installed on Ubuntu

Download Ubuntu

On the matebook, download it from the official website. The
version number Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS
is too slow and easy to fail. Choose the domestic scene website to download
http://mirrors.163.com/

The terminal verification download is successful:

echo "c0d025e560d54434a925b3707f8686a7f588c42a5fbc609b8ea2447f88847041 *ubuntu-18.04.4-desktop-amd64.iso" | shasum -a 256 --check
ubuntu-18.04.4-desktop-amd64.iso: OK

Make a bootable USB stick

Auxiliary software: multibootusb
official website download, version python3-multibootusb_9.2.0-1all.deb
double click to install, enter the computer password, complete

Prepare a blank USB flash drive, format it, and use it as a system flash drive.
In the deepin system, prepare the burning system USB flash drive. When
formatting the 8G-U flash drive, the format type selected and the volume label are FAT32
deepin. Fat32 and NTFS are
found. Zhihu explained above, so choose the former

The file system is how the system stores and arranges files. File systems in different formats are related to how data is stored on the disk, and file names, file permissions, and other attributes also differ. The Windows operating system supports three different file systems: NTFS, FAT32, and exFAT. NTFS is a modern file system in the Windows system. It is currently the most widely used. Most of the built-in hard disks are in NTFS format. FAT32 is a relatively old file system and cannot support many modern file format attributes like the NTFS format, but it has good compatibility with different system platforms and can be used on Linux, Mac or Android system platforms. exFAT is an alternative to the FAT32 file format. Many devices and operating systems support this file system, but currently not much is used.

Open multibootusb [unsuccessful]

Enter the computer password and
select the USB partition: / dev / sda1
Select install Syslinux-> install syslinx and copy all required files-> install-> a few seconds later-> OK
[At this time, the multibootusb folder is created in the U disk]

Select the
iso file downloaded from Ubuntu Linux in the image file browse-> open
file details:
Type: ubuntu
Size: 2G
Boot: True
Select MultiBootUSB below-> install distro-> yes-> There is a progress bar below to indicate that the progress is very slow = _ = Stuck at 95% for a long
time- > OK [At this time, the EFI folder was created in the U disk, ldlinux.sys]
I tried this process twice, and I kept stuck at the 95% progress bar. Finally gave up this method

Analyze the possible causes of problems

  1. The Ubuntu iso file is damaged, because the home network is not very coherent, and failure prompts often appear during downloading, so download the ISO file again, and choose the domestic mirror source, the speed is faster
  2. U disk is not compatible. I have n’t used USB for a long time. My existing USB is in the 2.0 era. At that time, Mac and Windows supported different U disks. To avoid possible problems, I bought a Windows / Mac universal 8G USB flash drive
  3. The multiboostusb software used to make the bootable U disk is not compatible. I know that the above article is to use deepin to make the Windows boot disk. It looks okay. I use the Ubuntu package. The version here gives me the feeling that the target system should be no problem , But still unsuccessful, choose to change the environment to make a boot disk

solution:

  1. Use MacOS to download deepin boot maker to make Ubuntu boot disk. It seems on the Internet that this software is officially used to make a deepin boot disk, compatible with Ubuntu, but the official website zip download fails.
  2. Solve with the disk utility + etcher that comes with Mac, ubuntu official website has tutorial
    https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/tutorial-create-a-usb-stick-on-macos#3-prepare-the-usb-stick

MacOS make Ubuntu boot U disk

Use the domestic mirror source website to download the Ubuntu system in the Downloads folder of the computer. The
verification is successful.

Follow the steps on the official website. During this period, you need the etcher tool
https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/tutorial-create-a-usb-stick-on- macos # 3-prepare-the-usb-stick

A few points to note:

  1. When DISK UTILITY selects U disk and erase, the current version does not include Scheme option
  2. The previous USB flash drive failed again, and a new universal USB flash drive was replaced.
The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer.Select initialization, just use disk utility erase
  3. Immediately after writing successfully, I was prompted again. I The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer.chose ignore this time.

EFI Boot Devices, select Linpus lite (hp v285w) U disk boot [select it in white] to
enter Ubuntu desktop menu, click the install ubuntu icon to enter the installation guide page
Language selection English-UK

We advise enabling both Download updates and Install third-party software.

The installation type, the prompt can be dual system with Deepin, but I think it is unnecessary to install two Linux systems haha, just erase the deepin and use Ubuntu directly-> install now-> the pop-up prompt select continue
time zone, set the computer and user name What, then start the installation
and wait a few minutes

Restart after installation is complete. Restart
prompts to install the device 【usb】 + Enter

Done, meow

to sum up

It is much simpler to install Ubuntu on a real machine than a dual system on a virtual machine. The pit in the early stage is mainly planted on the USB flash drive, and the new USB drive saves everything. In addition, it is much more convenient to burn the Ubuntu system disk with other systems. If the Ubuntu is not successfully engraved on the deepin, it is the sauce.
