Requirements Management Overview

Demand management: A systematic method for finding, recording, organizing, and tracking demand changes, which can be used to acquire, organize, and record system requirements and enable customers and project teams to agree on and maintain system changes

Requirements management includes:

  • Maintaining the requirements baseline: The final requirements are defined and fixed and passed on to other project members. This requirement set is the requirements baseline. (Not static)
  • Realize demand tracking: an effective control method, which can coordinate the evolution of the system in the change of stakeholders' needs and maintain the consistency of the requirements of various development work.
  • Controlling the change of requirements: The process of changing the requirements in the requirements baseline is conducted in a controlled manner, including the assessment of changes, coordinated approval or rejection of implementation and verification.
