To a certain extent, this sentence is correct, but getting better does not mean upgrading.
In the course of work, I often forget this sentence.
I find that my choice three years ago often determines the current working position and status.
In other words, no matter how hard you try, you can't get rid of your current position.

If you want to change your current position, you can only plan from now on and then implement it, so that you can change the position after 3 years through the path change.

Some people may say [no matter how wonderful the choice must be implemented by hard work], but as far as my own experience is concerned, it really is not the case.
First, the choice is up to you, but who makes the effort, so it depends on the situation, or if you are capable, it should be someone else or a team to help you achieve your plan.
Moreover, the strength of the team is much stronger than the individual.
Whether it is not easy to defeat the spiritual level of the team, or the comprehensive ability of the physical level, it is not comparable to the individual.

Of course, the team also has shortcomings, such as how to allow the team to work in concert, reduce work efficiency losses, benefit distribution, morale encouragement, personnel changes, and proper rewards and penalties.
This involves management.
However, these can also be taken into account in the planning.

My experience tells me that it is difficult to fully develop human abilities, or it is not necessary to develop fully.
For example, personnel management, there is no need to be done by the founder. But the founder's charm and courage often determine the flow of personnel in the early stages of entrepreneurship.
