The Apple T2 security chip is Apple's second-generation silicon chip customized for Mac. By redesigning and integrating several controllers in other Mac computers, such as system management controllers, image signal processors, audio controllers, and SSD controllers, the T2 chip brings many new features to the Mac.
For example, the T2 chip takes security to a new level. The security partition coprocessor it contains protects touch ID data and lays the foundation for new encrypted storage and secure boot functions. In addition, the image signal processor of the T2 chip cooperates with the FaceTime HD camera to achieve enhanced tone mapping, improved exposure control, and automatic exposure and automatic white balance based on facial recognition.

While holding down the Option key, choose Apple () menu> "System Information".
In the sidebar, choose "Controller" or "iBridge", depending on the version of macOS you are using.
If you see "Apple T2 chip" on the right, it means that your Mac is equipped with the Apple T2 security chip.
