Typora has 5~6 built-in themes. Changing writing theme can be done by selecting theme under the theme menu bar. You could also download, install, modify or write your own custom theme to stylize Typora.

There are built-in themes Typora 5-6. By choosing themeto replace the subject of writing topics under the menu bar. You can also Typora in the official website to download, install themes, or themes to modify, or write your own theme to decorate Typora.

Typora use CSS to stylish all contents, each theme under theme menu is one .css files under "typora's theme folder". So, briefly speaking, you could add/modify themes by adding/modifying correspond css files under "typora's theme folder".

Typora modified using CSS styles for all content, each topic is 主题a menu bar at the .cssfiles that are in Typora under the 'theme' folder. So, specifically, you can add / modify the css file under typora theme folder to add / modify theme.

Install Custom Themes (install custom themes)

  1. Open Theme Folder. (See instructions below )
    to open the theme folder. (Refer below tutorial)
  2. The Move or Copy .cssFile and Related Resources, like Fonts or ImagesRF Royalty Free, at The newly INTO the Opened Folder.
    Copy or move .cssfiles and associated resources (such as fonts or images) before the open folder (refer to the theme folder) inside.
  3. Typora the Restart, the then the SELECT IT from Themesthe MENU.
    Restart typora, then from Themeselecting the theme menu.

Open Theme Folder (open the theme folder)

Open preference panel by cmd+`, then click "Open Theme Folder"

Modify Current Styles (modify the current style)

Sometimes, you may just want to change font family for all themes, for change font-color for headings for a specific themes. In this case, you do not need to copy/modify a whole exiting css file, just Add Custom CSS is enough. In brief:

Sometimes, you might want to change the font for all the family theme, change the font color for the title of a particular topic. If so, you do not need to copy / modify an entire css file already exists, just add custom CSS enough. In short:

  • Create & write a base.user.css under theme folder, the css rules inside it will be applied to all themes.

    Under the theme folder, create a written report entitled & base.user.csscss files, css rule in the file will be applied to all themes.

  • The Write & A the Create {theme-css-name}.user.cssan under Theme Folder, at The css rules by Will Inside IT BE Applied only to Theme File {theme-css-name}.css.
    Under the theme folder, create a written report entitled & {theme-css-name}.user.csscss files, css rule in the file will only be applied to the {theme-css-name}.csstopic file.

Please note that the built-in CSS theme files will get overwritten completely on typora version up, so, write your custom css into *.user.css, instead of the existing files, will prevent your modifications from being lost after update.

Note: Built-in CSS theme files will be updated as typora version rewritten, therefore, in *.user.csswriting within a custom CSS file, replace the paper within an existing file, you can avoid losing changes after a software upgrade problem.
