1、在 TeX Users Group 的首页 https://tug.org/ 中，选择 “Get Started with TeX”。或者，直接访问页面 https://tug.org/begin.html。
2、找到 “Installing TeX and LaTeX”，根据自己使用的操作系统，选择相应的 TeX 版本：
Unix / GNU / Linux → TeX Live
Mac OS X → MacTeX
proTeXt → Windows
以 Windows 为例，proTeXt 是基于 MIKTeX 的。进入相应的页面后，选择直接下载 protext.zip，或从指定的镜像站点下载。之后的步骤都将以在 Windows 系统下安装 TeX 为示例。
3、将下载好的压缩包解压，然后运行安装程序，将 MIKTeX 和 TeXStudio 安装。TeXstudio 是 TeX 编辑器之一。也可以使用其它的文本编辑器编写 TeX 文档，例如 Visual Studio Code。
4、将 TeX Studio 调整为黑暗模式。在菜单栏的 Options 中，点击 Configure TeXstudio。在 General 选项卡中，将 Style 改为 Adwaita Dark (txs)。
5、如果编辑器（例如 Visual Studio Code）提示缺失 perl.exe 无法编译（排版）TeX 文本文件，则需要按照错误提示安装 Perl。选择 ActivePerl 或 Strawberry Perl 均可。
