Full process tutorial for installing MacOS Ventura 13.6 system on Windows using VM virtual machine (with resources)

Installation results:

Required capacity:At least 40GB of hard drive space, 80GB or more is recommended.

Required resources

  1. VMware Virtual Machine + Activation Key: VMware Workstation Pro 17.0.2
  2. ISO image of MacOS Ventura 13.6
  3. Unlock tools for MacOS
  4. Stuttering optimization tool: beamoff

Some people reported that they need a usable ISO image; moreover, the VMware versions readers find themselves are different, so the installation may be complicated.

So I have prepared all the resources to adapt to this installation method, including the Ventura 13.6 ISO system image I made myself. If you need it, you can pick it up. The location is Title 6.

Overall steps

  1. Prerequisite 1: Install the virtual machine and activate it.
  2. Preface 2: VT+ unlocking (making the virtual machine compatible with mac)
  3. Create a virtual machine and configure it (solve restart issues)
  4. Install macOS Ventura_13.6 system
  5. Finishing: Install VMware tools + networking + optimization lag tools.

2. 2 steps to prepare before installation

(1) BIOS turns on VT virtualization

How to enable VT virtualization for each motherboard brand:

https://www.ldmnq.com/support/leidian/2273.html

Intel CPUs enable Intel-VT, and AMD CPUs enable AMD-V.

Intel CPU setting method: After entering the BIOS, find the BIOSfeatures-"Intel virtual technology", "VT-d" option, and change "disabled" to "enabled". Then press F10 to save and exit;

AMDCPU setting method: After entering the BIOS, find the M.I.T-"advanced frequency settings"-"advanced cpu core settings"-"SVM" option. Change "disabled" to "enabled". Then press F10 to save and exit;

Note: There may be differences in details depending on the computer model.

2) Virtual machine unlocking

I have seen several softwares for unlocking virtual machines. Here we only introduce two unlockers.

Unlocker Choose one of two:

  • Method 1: unlocker 4.2.6

Click the link to enter github download:unlocker 4.2.6

  • Method 2: unlocker 3.0.6

The author has canceled the publication: github publishing address

Since github is blocked, the link may not be open. You can find it in the resources.

Start unlocking

VMware virtual machines do not support the installation of macOS systems, so this step is to use unlocker to unlock the virtual machine's support for macOS.

1. Use unlocker 4.2.6

After unzipping unlocker, enter the windows folder:

unlock is the unlocker, relock is to return to the initial uncracked state; check is to check the patch status, showing 1 means it has been patched, and 0 means it has not been patched.

The only step: double-click unlock.exe

unlock.exe can automatically shut down the VMware process. (If it requires administrator rights, open it with administrator rights; if it crashes quickly, you can manually close the VMware process or stop it for a while and click it again.)

Generally, if complete appears, it is successful. You can also click check.exe to check.

2. Use unlocker 3.0.6

(0) If your virtual machine has been started, manually close the VMware process in Task Manager .

  • Close the process manually:

Shortcut keys Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Task Manager,End these three processes of VMware.

These three processes are also common in another unlocker.

(1) Unzip unlocker, double-click the unlocker.exe application, and unlock it in seconds.

3. Create a virtual machine and configure it

(1) Create a virtual machine

1. Click the Create Virtual Machine button, then selectTypical Installation and select Next.

2. Select "Browse", then find the Mac system iso file, select it and open it, Ignore the warning. Next step.

3. Configure the guest operating system as shown in the figure, next step.

Note: If there is Apple Mac OS

4. Select your Mac system installation location and virtual machine.

The name can be defaulted, the installation location is your installation folder, click Next.

5. The default disk capacity is 80G, you can set it larger.

Single file: The reading speed is relatively fast, but the system load is relatively large and the memory usage is high.

Multiple files: The reading speed is average, but the memory usage is small and the system load is small.

6. Click Done.

(2) Configuring virtual machines

This step is mainly to solve the problem of repeated restarts during VMware virtual machine installation!

Find the installation folder (virtual machine directory) of your system,Find the vmx extension file, right-click and selectHow to open Notepad.

Recommended solution (using this solution, the virtual machine will run twice as smoothly):

  • Find andchangethese two existing rows, change it to this:

board-id.reflectHost = "FALSE"

ethernet0.virtualDev = "vmxnet3"

  • Paste the following paragraphs below:

board-id = "Mac-AA95B1DDAB278B95"

hw.model.reflectHost = "FALSE"

hw.model = "MacBookPro19,1"

serialNumber.reflectHost = "FALSE"

serialNumber = "C01234567890"

Alternate solution (Old solution, applicable to all MacOS Ventura systems, the effect is not as good as the above):

  • Add this to the last paragraph of your notepad:smc.version = 0
  • Go up a few lines and check the line ethernet0.virtualDev = "vmxnet3". If = is e1000e, change e1000e to vmxnet3

4. Install the system

(1) Install the system

Click directly in the upper left corner to start the virtual machine. If a "Removable Device" window pops up, check Don't prompt again and click OK.

You can also connect the virtual machine to the Internet before installation : See the first item in Part 5.

  1. Select the system language, click the arrow, and proceed to the next step.
  2. Click [Disk Utility].

3. Enter Disk Utility, select your 85GB SATA Hard Drive Media, which is the first one, and click "Erase" in the upper right corner.

4. Rename your main disk, change "Unnamed" to what you want, and click Erase.

5. When finished, click the red circle button in the upper left corner to cross the page.

6. Then click "Install MacOS Ventura" and press ① to continue. ②Continue. ③ Agree to the agreement.

important hint

The resource package contains a system image produced by Apple’s native PKG. The following are the points to note:

Ventura 13.6 will read the message repeatedly during the installation process. It looks like a restart, but it is actually being installed.

How can I tell if I am rebooting due to a configuration error or an installation reboot?

If after restarting, it returns to the interface that originally asked youto select the system language, this is a fault;

If it reads articles after restarting, and still reads articles after reading articles, but does not return to the initial language selection interface, this is a normal installation.

(2) Configuration system

1. Select a country:The last one you pull is Mainland China.

2. Language and input method:Click to continue.

3. Support function:after.

4. Data and Privacy:Continue.

5. After the transfer:.

6. Log in via Apple ID: Set it up later, then click Skip.

7. Terms and Conditions:Agree.

8. Create a computer account: Create your system account name, the password will be your future power-on password, click Continue after filling in.

9. Enable location services: Uncheck, continue; choose not to use it in the pop-up window.

10. Select a time zone: Click your approximate location on the world map, it will automatically generate your time zone, just choose the place closest to you.

11.Analysis:Conclusion.

12.Screen time:Continue.

13.Appearance:Choose whatever you want and continue.

If you are not connected to the Internet during installation, the following interface may appear:

  1. How to connect:No need to move, continue.
  2. Your Internet connection:No need to move, continue.

The prompt "Your Mac is not connected to the Internet" appears:Click Continue, then click Continue.

After successful configuration, enter the system, as shown in the figure:

5. Closing

It is divided into three major steps, one is to connect to the Internet, the other is to install VMware tools, and the third is to use beamoff to optimize lagging.

(1) Internet connection

The following networking uses NAT mode, you can also try to use bridging.

You can connect to the Internet in advance before installation, and you can omit the network settings during system installation.

  1. In Windows' [Services], start VMware's DHCP and NAT services.

Services Search directly using the magnifying glass on the Windows taskbar, and then find the two services starting with VMware and start them.

2. Change the network adapter to NAT mode.

(2) Install VMware tools

This tool can adjust the resolution of the MacOS system to fill the screen, and can easily transfer files between systems by dragging and dropping.

  1. There is a CD in the upper right corner of the system, right-click and select Eject

2. Right-click the virtual machine and click "Install VMware Tools".

If there is a problem that VMware Tools cannot connect to the update server, you need to use darwin.iso to connect to the CD/DVD and install it manually. See Article 3 of Part 7.

3. Double-click to install on mac system.

① Click Continue.

② Click Install.

③ Enter the password.

4. Two pop-up windows will appear throughout the process.

The second pop-up window:

Click to open system settings and automatically enter the following interface.

Click Allow, enter your password, and continue the installation.

5. Restart and the installation is successful.

3) Optimize lag

Beamoff can disable graphics acceleration and avoid virtual machine freezes and freezes. Your graphics rendering will be slower and CPU usage will be reduced.

If you only use the MacOS system and it runs smoothly, beamoff is optional.

When using a vmware virtual machine to install macOSX, you may encounter problems such as lagging and freezing. At this time, you can use the beamoff tool to optimize the performance of the virtual machine.

Beamoff is a tool used to optimize the performance of vmware virtual machines. It can disable the BeamSync function in the virtual machine to improve the performance of the virtual machine. BeamSync is a graphics acceleration function in macOSX. It can increase the speed of graphics rendering, but it also uses a lot of CPU resources. Disabling BeamSync can reduce CPU usage, thereby improving the performance of the virtual machine.
  1. Place beamoff.zip into your Mac system.

Method 1: Download from network disk and transfer via network.

Method 1: Use shared folders, see Part 7, Part 1 for the method.

Method 3: VMware tools, may not be successful.

(1) After installing VMware Tools, directly drag beamoff.zip from windows into the macOS system interface.

A window will pop up, prompting you to grant permissions. Go to the next step.

(2) Allow vmware-tools-daemon control in Settings-Privacy and Security-Accessibility and drag in to complete.

2. Set beamoff to start at boot.

Double-click beamoff.zip and an app will be automatically generated. Drag it to any folder and place it, such as "Users".

(1) Go to Settings-General-Login Items, click the button below, and add beamoff.app.

(2) Restart the client.

6. Resource acquisition

Click to view resources for details:

Basically all the resources needed to install and configure a virtual machine are there.

7. Other issues

This section will make a comprehensive summary of the problems encountered by everyone and provide URLs with solutions.

(1) How to share folders with the virtual machine Mac system in Windows?

After installing Tools, make the following settings in the virtual machine settings-options-shared folder:

  1. Check Always Enable.

 2. Add a folder on windows.

3. Click Finder-Settings-check Show connected servers.

4. Restart the client.

(2) How to solve the problem that the Safari webpage is incomplete and blank?

It's a problem with the resolution after VMware Tools is installed. Apple's system has built-in functions that can cure the symptoms.

This can be solved by clicking on the Safari browser's settings, page size, and adjusting the zoom ratio of the web page, for example, to 175%.

You can also set the zoom rate of a website individually, and the system will automatically record it.

(3) VMwareTools installation and update cannot connect to the server

The component cannot be found on the update server, please contact VMware Technical Support or your system administrator.
