Heavy! The results of the 2023 China University Computer Competition-Artificial Intelligence Creative Competition are released

China Computer Competition-Artificial Intelligence Creative Competition Live

On December 8, in Hangzhou, a "white-haired old man" suddenly fell to the ground. At this time, the robot beside him had recognized the scene of the "old man" falling, and the automatic phone contacted his family and doctors... This scene happened At the scene of China Computer Competition-Artificial Intelligence Creative Competition (hereinafter referred to as "C4-AI Competition"). It turns out that this is Wang Zikang of Harbin Institute of Technology (Weihai) taking his AI work to do a "road show" for the finals of the C4-AI competition.

800 AI applications? This generation of college students can really "make things happen"

This competition attracted a total of 3,688 teams from 463 universities to participate. The contestants created nearly 800 creative AI applications based on Baidu Wenxin large model, Baidu Feipiao deep learning development platform, etc., covering health, transportation, agriculture, forestry, industry, etc. , aerospace and more than ten fields.

"The experiences of the elderly around us are the biggest reason that prompted us to develop this application," Wang Zikang, the team leader of the "Guarding the Age of Smart Elderly Companion" project, told reporters.

An old man from a relative of Wang Zikang lived alone in the countryside. An accidental fall almost resulted in a tragedy because no one noticed. "This incident touched me a lot. The aging population is getting worse and young people are busy with work. In the future, more elderly people may face the dilemma of no one to take care of them," said Wang Zikang. "I studied computer science, so I just thought Make an app to help the elderly and their children.”

After half a year of hard work, the "Guardian of Tiannian Smart Elderly Companion" AI application was finally developed. It is an active care system that integrates mobile terminals, smart watches, and cloud servers. It can realize medical consultation, voice interaction, home appliance control, health detection and early warning systems, etc. For example, the app has automatic following and fall detection functions. Once an elderly person is found to have fallen, it can immediately notify the children and the hospital. Information and images of the fall can also be pushed to the children through the app. In order to ensure that they can accurately identify the scene where the old man fell, Wang Zikanghe and his teammates have "flopped" thousands of times.

"Our app can also chat, tell stories, and tell jokes to relieve the boredom of the elderly." Project member Liu Yizhou added. By calling the Wenxin Big Model API on the Baidu Intelligent Cloud Qianfan platform, the application has the ability to interact and ask questions with the elderly, thus meeting the emotional needs of the elderly.

Since this year, the use of large models to develop applications has become a consensus in the industry and academia. In this C4-AI competition, there are many valuable and creative AI applications developed based on the Wenxin large model, such as the "Smart Elderly Companion to Protect the Elderly".

The "Intelligent Diagnosis System for Eye Diseases" that won the first prize in the empowerment group was proposed by two students from South Central University for Nationalities. This application only requires a smartphone, which can replace professional medical imaging equipment and achieve expert-level accurate diagnosis of seven common eye diseases, providing new solutions for patients with eye diseases.

In response to the problem that the traditional spacecraft fault diagnosis expert library lacks systematic analysis of multi-level fault coupling and emergent effects, three students from Harbin Institute of Technology fine-tuned the Wenxin large model and planned to build a more systematic and comprehensive spacecraft Fault diagnosis knowledge base provides convenience for people's livelihood and science and technology fields.

Students from Wuhan University combined AI with traditional ancient prose, used cross-modal generation technology and large models to realize the mutual transformation and comprehensive utilization of images and texts, and designed a comprehensive ancient prose creation platform with rich functions.

In the AI native era, Baidu will cultivate another 5 million large model talents

The AI application "Drawing the World" developed by a junior student from Shandong University also impressed the judges and audience of the competition. As a multi-modal interactive painting therapy system for children with autism, "Paint the World" uses interactive projection technology and integrates AI+painting to help children with autism understand and understand the world. "We met at least more than 300 children to understand their needs and obtain their feedback." Qi Xiaoyi, the team leader, said.

Ms. Song, a mother born in the 1990s, took her daughter to experience this application live. Ms. Song randomly drew patterns such as airplanes, stars, and basketballs on the projection board, and the system could process them into dynamic effects through AI. It could also use the connected Wen Xin Yiyan to quickly generate stories and play the voices to the children.

It is worth mentioning that when used by children with autism, "Picture the World" can provide auxiliary treatment through various data indicators. For example, through drawing speed, fluency, line coherence, line smoothness, etc., we can analyze children's mobility and judge their condition. Through the categories of painting materials, painting habits, preferences and colors, it reflects children's psychological status and interest preferences.

Through simple interactions, "Paint the World" can animate paintings and generate stories based on the content in the paintings.

"The most difficult problem is the technical problem, and the flying paddle helped us a lot." After learning that he had won the second prize in the innovation group, Qi said with emotion. Based on the flying paddle, the "Painting the World" team solved the problem of making static images move, infrared Core issues such as touch.

It is understood that Baidu Flying Paddle, as an industrial-level deep learning open source open platform independently developed in my country, integrates deep learning framework, industrial-level model library, rich development kits and tool components, allowing artificial intelligence technology to be efficiently and conveniently applied to various industries. All walks of life. As of August 2023, the Feipiao platform has gathered 8 million developers and serves 220,000 enterprises and institutions. As an important part of the developer ecosystem, university developers gather together through technical competitions, trainings and other activities organized by Baidu to realize their unbridled ideas.

Baidu proposed in 2020 to cultivate 5 million AI talents for the whole society in five years. So far, it has cultivated 4.2 million AI talents. As large models have become a hot topic in the development of artificial intelligence, Baidu has launched the Baidu Talent Training Galaxy Plan, which will train another 5 million large model talents for society.
