USIM card (English: ), is a user identity module used in UMTS network. The USIM card can also store user information, phone numbers, authentication information and provide storage space for short messages .
The USIM card is usually considered as an upgrade of the SIM card. The USIM card must be used in the LTE network, and the USIM card is compatible with 2G and 3G networks.
When the user needs to use the roaming service in a foreign country, he can insert the original USIM card into a mobile phone that corresponds to the local standard and is compatible with the USIM card to use the roaming service.
In order to provide authentication services, the USIM card stores a group of long-term encryption keys K, which are shared with the authentication center (AuC) of the network. The USIM card also authenticates a series of consecutive numbers, and these numbers cannot exceed a range to avoid replay attacks .
Safety
Since the USIM card supports two -way authentication, it allows the mobile phone (USIM) to authenticate the validity of the network. This method effectively solves the security loophole that the SIM card only supports one-way Harassment by base stations , information leaks and spam messages.
