In November 2022, after deliberation and approval by the openKylin Community Technical Committee, the GPU Interest Group - GPU SIG was formally established.
GPU SIG was initiated by Changsha Jingmei Integrated Circuit Design Co., Ltd. , a co-construction unit of the openKylin community , and is committed to research on GPU driver-related technologies, including OpenGL, OpenCL, Vulkan, VDPAU, and VAAPI. Provide technical planning, design, development, maintenance and upgrade services of GPU-related software packages, and jointly promote the development of domestic GPU technology.

SIG Responsibilities
1. GPU driver technology planning
Promote the openKylin community to better support domestic GPU devices, organize and formulate GPU driver technology standards and specifications, and promote the common development of domestic GPU technology.
2. GPU driver software development and maintenance
Assist domestic GPU manufacturers to jointly develop, maintain, and upgrade driver-related software packages.
3. GPU compatibility specification
Improve the compatibility of the openKylin community with domestic GPU graphics cards, optimize the switching between domestic GPU drivers, and promote the seamless switching of related applications between different domestic GPUs.
4. GPU driver technology sharing
Provide GPU driver development materials to the openKylin community, organize GPU technology discussions from time to time, and promote the healthy development of the industry ecology.
