Directory tree (directory tree)
Key Features:

• Starting point of the tree is a root directory (/, root);

• Each directory can be used more than the local side partition file system, you may be used on the network filesystem.
  For example: You can use Network File System (NFS) mount a particular directory service and so on.

• Each file in this directory tree in the file name (including the full path) is unique.

Absolute and relative paths path

• Absolute path: from the root directory (/) began to write the name of the file or directory name, for example /home/suny/.bashrc;
• Relative path: the path relative to the current wording of the file name. E.g. ./home/suny or ... / ... / home / suny / like. Not start / writing belong relative path;

. : Represents the current directory, may be used to represent ./;
.. : , On behalf of the parent directory may / be represented...

Example:
first enter / var / spool / mail / directory, and then enter the / var / spool / cron / directory within

cd /var/spool/mail
cd ../cron
