Ubuntu packages using the command apt

Package management often involves root privileges, ordinary users at the beginning of plus sudocan perform some root command instructions, enter the password after.

apt search Search package descriptions
apt show Display package details
apt install Installation package
apt remove Removing packages
apt purge Removing packages and configuration file (uninstalled residues)
apt autoremove Uninstall unwanted packages

apt full-upgrade Stronger than the one including unloading / install / upgrade

For example with atom (atom good, with just a bit not in the habit)

List the packages apt list atom.

Remove the software apt remove atom. Deletion be residual, you can then purgecommand sudo apt purge atomto remove residual, or directly with the delete command.
