Linux 5.3 kernel series has been terminated support, it is recommended that users upgrade to Linux Kernel 5.4

Last week, Linux kernel developer Greg Kroah-Hartman announced the first 18 maintenance updates Linux 5.3 kernel series (5.3.18). This version were changed 59 files, insert 369 / remove 329. In addition the developers pointed out that this will be the last maintenance update the Linux 5.3 kernel series. With Linux Kernel 5.3 arrived EoL, the official recommended that users update to the Linux Kernel 5.4, in order to get the full support and protection.

Greg Kroah-Hartman in the e-mail bulletin in that expire after Linux Kernel 5.3 support, will no longer receive critical security updates or bug maintenance, interested friends can read 5.3.y of  Git Tree  .

Whether ordinary Linux users, or distribution vendor, again strongly recommended that you upgrade the OS to the latest Linux 5.4 kernel series. If the current is temporarily unable to achieve, at least please update to version 5.3.18.

You can from  Kernel.org  download both versions of the official website, but the need to manually edit the installation and implementation. But before you upgrade from Linux 5.3 kernel, it may be appropriate to wait for your favorite GNU / Linux stable version of the package into the repository.

As for the new features Linux Kernel 5.4, mainly including the long-awaited Microsoft's exFAT file system support, as well as the long-awaited "lock" (Lockdown) security features.
