Microsoft will discontinue support for .NET Core 2.2, the developers recommend upgrading to .NET Core 3.1

Current versions of .NET Core 2.2 will end the life cycle in December 23, developers should update to the long-term support version of .NET Core 3.1.

.NET Core 2.2  on December 4, 2018 release, as a non-LTS version ( "Current"), only three months after the release of the next version supported. .NET Core 3.0  was released on September 23, so .NET Core 2.2 Supported time to December 23 will be terminated. This means that after this date, Microsoft will not provide any container mirroring update package for the .NET Core 2.2.

Microsoft recommends that the next version of .NET Core 2.2 upgrade for  the .NET 3.1 Core . .NET Core 3.1 as long-term support version, Microsoft will provide support for three years. Developers can upgrade directly from .NET Core 2.2.

.NET Core now available in two versions, one long-term support version, suitable for applications infrequently updated, and Current version due to the feedback from users due to constantly add new features, it is more appropriate for the application being developed that allows developers to use the latest features.
