Drupal 8.8.0 release, content management system

Drupal 8.8.0 is now available. Drupal is an open source content management system (CMS) platform, is mainly used to construct a variety of features and services to provide dynamic website, these features include user management (UserAdministration), publication workflow (Publishing Workflow), discussions, news aggregator (NewsAggregation ), metadata (metadata) operations and XML publishing for content sharing.

As a normal Drupal last feature release 8, Drupal 8.8.0 includes stability improvements to the library and some work areas and migration. At the same time, new experimental Claro management theme also makes site management a new look. Moreover, 8.8.0 is the first version of this machine Composer supports.

Stable media library

  • Media Library module allows easy reuse of images, documents, video and other assets across the entire site. It is integrated into the form and content seamlessly adapted CKEditor. Improved migration

  • Multi-language migration path is still in the experimental stage, but have been various updates. This includes setting word language, terminology and language information localization process. Modules can now specify whether they provide complete migration to help review the integrity of the available migration.

It is worth mentioning that, Drupal 8.8 Drupal is the last minor release 8, includes important new features prior to 9.0.0 or not recommended. The next (and last) minor version 8.9 program is a long-term support version, it will contain the same all changes with Drupal 9.0. Compared with 8.8.0, it does not contain significant new features, although the existing experimental module may become stable, and can still add some small API and UX improvements.

Drupal 8.9.0 release date is planned in 2020 on June 3, and Drupal 9.0.0 target release date is the same day.
