Ethernet (ETHERNET) Networking

Ethernet media access method using competitive allow all hosts on a network share the same bandwidth of a link.
Ethernet uses carrier with Collision Detection Sense Multiple Access (CSMA / CD) technology.
Uses CSMA / CD protocol network will be under great pressure of conflict, including:
1. Delay
2. Low throughput
3. Congestion
half-duplex and full-duplex Ethernet
half-duplex Ethernet defined in the original 802.3 Ethernet, it applies only to one pair cable, digital signal on the line is a two-way transmission.
Also using half-duplex Ethernet CSMA / CD protocol, in order to prevent conflict, if they have a conflict, it is allowed retransmissions.
Full-duplex Ethernet cable with two pairs of wire, half-duplex mode, as yet to be a pair of cables.
Full-duplex Ethernet can be used for the following three cases:
1. The switch is connected to the host
2. The switch is connected to the switch
3. Using a crossover cable from the host to the host

Ethernet Data Link Layer
The data link layer is responsible for Ethernet Ethernet addressing, typically into its hardware address or MAC address.
There are four different types of Ethernet frames are available:
1. Ethernet_II
2. 802.3 the IEEE
. 3. 802.2 the IEEE
. 4. SNAP
