HTTPZ, the HTTP to HTTPS links Firefox plugin

Most sites now support HTTPS, and when the user visits the site will default to the HTTPS protocol.

If the site is located to support HTTPS site database, the  HTTPS Everywhere  extension like HTTP request will automatically go to HTTPS. DuckDuckGo search engine recently launched a new feature called "Smart Encryption" in its application and extension, this feature will automatically connect to HTTPS based on search engine data.

And there are some Web browsers (eg Tor) it does not attempt to automatically connect users to more secure HTTPS protocol directly from HTTP, if you click on a Web site has been migrated to the HTTPS (HTTP and HTTPS support, or both) of the HTTP link to the old article, then it will use the HTTP resource load, rather than go to HTTPS.

And Firefox is a HTTPZ extension can automatically be HTTP to HTTPS access.

HTTPZ does not depend on support HTTPS site database, it will automatically try to connect upgraded to HTTPS, HTTPS connection if an error is thrown, it will revert to HTTP. HTTPZ introduction is written like this:

  • If HTTPS upgrade invalid, the fallback HTTP.
  • If the site to redirect from HTTPS to HTTP, a warning is displayed.
  • Enable proxy compatibility mode.
  • Setting up an HTTPS connection attempt timed out.
  • Remember that success can be upgraded HTTPS cache to speed up future connection speed.
  • Does not support HTTP site configuration ignore the behavior.
  • ……

HTTPZ There are currently a number of capacity restrictions, such as it does not attempt to link the child to HTTPS resources, such as HTTPS sites load elements.
