[Flink] Mac set the local operating environment

Run flink, the only requirement is that the pre-installed java8.
You can view the local command:

java -version

If the java8 is installed, the command output is similar to:

java version "1.8.0_111"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_111-b14)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.111-b14, mixed mode)

For mac system, can be installed by Homebrew

$ brew install apache-flink
...
$ flink --version
Version: 1.2.0, Commit ID: 1c659cf

Start the local cluster flink

$ ./bin/start-cluster.sh  # Start Flink

You can check http: // localhost: 8081, if there is a normal page can be accessed.
You can also check data log file path:

$ tail log/flink-*-standalonesession-*.log
INFO ... - Rest endpoint listening at localhost:8081
INFO ... - http://localhost:8081 was granted leadership ...
INFO ... - Web frontend listening at http://localhost:8081.

Run the sample

Flink run a program, it reads text from the socket, and once every 5 seconds to print a different number of times each word within first 5 seconds.

First, we use netcat start the local server

$ nc -l 9000

Submit flink program

$ ./bin/flink run examples/streaming/SocketWindowWordCount.jar --port 9000
Starting execution of program

This procedure waits for input by connecting the socket to accept.

$ nc -l 9000
lorem ipsum
ipsum ipsum ipsum
bye

Then it can be seen in the output print the log

$ tail -f log/flink-*-taskexecutor-*.out
lorem : 1
bye : 1
ipsum : 4

The last stop flink cluster command:

$ ./bin/stop-cluster.sh
