Chrome OS 80 will be able to build Android applications directly

In a recent  Android Dev Summit  on, Chrome OS team announced Chrome OS 80 will allow Chromebook can build Android applications directly.

This feature is actually incorporated in the Chrome OS Android application side loading (sideloading), the specific description of the function from a private bug  recording and corresponding code changes, based on the recorded side was brought Android application loaded on the Chromebook Android containers.

According to internal documents, the specific operation is the need to develop a special container Crostini start command (from a Linux-based command line Chromebook), the need to add -enable-Features = ArcAdbSideloading .

Developers currently must be connected via USB cable Android device to the Chromebook, then apply it pushed to test or use Chrome OS developer mode on equipment in order to build Android applications, but the two are not the ideal choice.

This new feature for Android developers to build their applications for use on a Chromebook Android Studio, is a very handy feature. Specifically, Chrome OS 80 will add the option to Android developers, so you can install and test their applications directly on a Chrome OS device.
