There was a time (since the EL 4.6), Red Hat embedded system reporting and troubleshooting tools into the operating system. The tool by sosreport , collecting system information and setting and bind it to the archive tar.bz, easy distribution. Generally, this applies to Red Hat support, but in other cases may prove to be useful in diagnosis.

Note - This tool is also installed on Red Hat CentOS and other derivatives.

I'm curious if there are any useful way to compare two different systems from the sosreportoutput. I was chasing the impact of a server error, and has no effect on another "same" system. There seems to be a way to "differentiate" sosreportoutput to between the two platforms to see what configuration differences.

Try using sxconsole.

"Sxconsole is for extracting various types of reporting tools
using a plug-in to extract the analysis of those reports. The tool also provides
archiving and extraction of compression structure so that all
reports will be saved to the directory. This tool is ... developing
sysreport / sosreports but has been extended to include any report of
a class definition. "
