OpenStack project Neutron network service components provide a connection to the network virtual machine instances in which plug-ins to provide support for a variety of network equipment and software, the OpenStack environment to build and deploy with more flexibility, its most the main function is to provide networking for virtual machine instances.
Neutron service component content:
1, neutron-server: receiving and routes the request to the API OpenStack a network plug-in.
2, OpenStack Networking plug-ins and agents: Creating ports (ports), network (Networks) and subnets (Subnets), provide the IP address. Plug-ins and agentg according to different vendors and technologies used in different cloud environments. Plug-ins generally supports Cisco Virtual and Physical Swaithes, NEC OpenFlow Products, Open vSwitch, Linux Bridging and VMware NSX Product.
3, Messaging queue: routing information between neutron-server and agents, but also as a database to store the network connection status of the plug-ins.
