Mbps of bandwidth units and conversion method

First, figure out several units:

  • 'bit, i.e. bit is usually represented by b
  • B, that byte
  • KB, namely kilobyte
  • MB, namely megabytes

Unit conversion relationship above is as follows:

1MB = 1024KB =1024 x 1024B = 1024 x 1024 x 8b

1M bandwidth to an example, when the transmission rate is the theory 125KB / s, but the actual occupation of a small number of other applications bandwidth, the actual value will fluctuate slightly, 110-120KB / s are normal range.

It is calculated as follows:

1Mbps = 1024 x 1024 b/s = 1024Kb/s = 1024/8 KB/s = 128KB/s
