OTDR primary function is to find A , B break between both ends of the cable.

OTDR settings before the test

1, wavelength: selection of 1550nm .

2, the distance range: filler selected from the actual distance of 2 times (not less than the actual distance of 1.3 times).

3, pulse height: general election 20ns .

Normal fiber test interface display: two large peaks ( A side, B side) and a small peak (commonly known as: ghosting; two large peaks appear later).

Breakpoint fiber test interface display: a peak ( A side) until a plurality of successive peaks closely starting place (breakpoint).

Experience: 1 , if the middle two large peaks appear small peak, is likely to be A , B between both ends of the cable connected with a connector box.

2, in general, the larger the peak value, the greater the loss by light.

3, OTDR accuracy is not very high, the error is still very large, often you need to determine the actual situation.

 

Splice machine

Cable splice color order: blue, orange, green, brown, gray, white, red, black, yellow, purple, pink, water green (cyan).
