Because Oracle's operating principles imp / exp components - backward compatible, and there are some rules:
Rule 1: low version exp / imp can be connected to a higher version (or the same version) database server, but the high version exp / imp can not be connected to the lower version of the database server;
Rule 2: a higher version of exp dmp file, the low version not IMP (unrecognized dmp file); a low version of exp dmp file, the high version can IMP (backward compatible);
Rule 3: Export Data from Oracle low version can Import high version to Oracle, Oracle adjacent version but limited, such as Oracle conversion from 10 to 11. The Oracle for between two non-adjacent version, such as from Oracle. 9 to Oracle 11, it should first data input to the intermediate version -Oracle 10, and then later transferred to the intermediate database from Oracle 11.
