Elecard StreamEye usage tutorial
Elecard StreamEye is a powerful video quality analysis tool for codec developers, system integrators and transport stream manufacturers. It provides in-depth analysis of video streams, including detailed visual representation at macroblock and frame levels.
My version is 2.9.2, which is a bit old. It is recommended to use the latest one.
Installation and setup
download
- Visit Elecard's official website . (This website is quite powerful, and there are many video test resources available for download)
- Select StreamEye in the product list.
- Choose the appropriate version to download based on your operating system.
Install
- Double-click the downloaded installation file.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to proceed with the installation process.
Interface navigation
StreamEye's user interface consists of three parts:
main menu
It mainly includes options such as file, editing, view and tools.
video window
Display the input video stream.
Analysis window
Display detailed video stream information.
File operations
Open video file
Use the "File -> Open" option to open the video file to be analyzed from the local disk.
Video streaming analysis
Frame type identification
You can view the type of each frame (I frame, P frame or B frame) at Type. This helps understand how video encoding performs and is optimized.
Code rate analysis
Using the "View -> Additional Info" option, you can choose to display the average bitrate, maximum bitrate, and minimum bitrate for each GOP (Group of Pictures). This can help analyze the stability of the video stream and possible optimizations.
analysis report
Using the "File -> Generate Report" option, StreamEye can generate a detailed analysis report including all parameters and statistics.
ps. My version is too low (2.9.2) and does not have this function:
Advanced Features
visual representation
StreamEye provides a unique visual representation that displays encoding blocks, partitions, motion vectors, reference lists, and more in the video window.
compare mode
Additionally, StreamEye has a powerful comparison mode that can open and compare two video streams simultaneously. This is easily accomplished via the "File -> Compare" option.
(My version is lower than this function)
Automation script
StreamEye also supports automation scripts and can be used for batch processing and automated testing. These scripts can be run using the command line version of StreamEye.
For example, the following command will open a video file and generate an analysis report:
streameye -i input.h264 -o report.txt
