Cloud computing is a general term that can be divided into several categories according to the service content it provides. This book mainly explains a type of cloud service called IaaS.
IaaS, Infrastructure as a Service. The other two are SaaS and PaaS. I will record them in detail later when I come across them.
What cloud computing achieves is nothing more than “an environment where IT resources can be used on demand.” To put it more simply, cloud services are "vending machines for IT resources."
So, cloud computing is a broad category, but cloud services are part of cloud computing? That is, cloud computing can be divided into three cloud services: IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS.
But why is it called "cloud computing"... Computing, computing, what exactly is computing? Compute big number operations? This also leads me to always think that cloud computing belongs to cloud services. Then I suddenly discovered something: is the word cloud computing a native Chinese word?
Obviously not. So I looked for the English word for cloud computing - Cloud Computing. Computing means "computer technology" or "information processing technology". Therefore, the full name of cloud computing should be: cloud computer technology, referred to as "cloud computing".
In other words, "calculation" here means "computer technology", not count or calculate. Once you understand this, you will know what cloud computing is.
So if you find a Chinese term in the future that is awkward to read or difficult to understand, then it is most likely translated from a foreign language. I still recommend looking for the original words to understand.
