1. Activity background
The Wollongong Temple Fair began in the Han and Tang Dynasties and flourished in the Ming Dynasty. It is a long-standing traditional festival in Nanyang. In order to inherit and carry forward Chinese traditional culture and local characteristics, Wollongong Scenic Area held the New Year Temple Fair in 2023 and achieved good results. In 2024, the Wollongong New Year Temple will be upgraded again based on last year’s event, incorporating more distinctive New Year-themed light show elements. In order to better show the unique charm of the Three Kingdoms culture and increase children's knowledge and understanding of the Three Kingdoms culture, this lantern display is open to children and teenagers aged 4 to 16 years old from all over the society to collect paintings with the theme of the Three Kingdoms. The winning works will be It was unveiled in the form of Zigong lanterns during the New Year Temple Fair.
2. Activity rules
1. The painting must be based on the theme of the Three Kingdoms and reflect the politics, military, culture, characters and other elements of the Three Kingdoms period.
2. This activity is solicited from children and adolescent painting enthusiasts aged 4 to 16 years old.
3. Work categories: Children's paintings, sketches, sketches, gouache, watercolors, Chinese paintings, prints, comics, oil paintings, sculptures and other works are acceptable. The appropriate size for paintings is 4K or 8K.
3. Activity process
1. Collection stage: from the date of announcement to December 22, 2023;
2. Selection stage: December 23-December 29, 2023;
3. Work exhibition and awards stage: December 30, 2023 - January 1, 2024;
4. Presentation stage: 2024 New Year Temple Fair (February 2-February 25, 2024).
4. Selection criteria
This event adopts a selection method that combines "expert review and online voting".
5. Award setting
This event has one first prize per group, two second prizes per group, and three third prizes per group.
First prize for one person/group: 2,000 yuan bonus + annual pass for the whole family (5 people);
Second prize for two persons/group: 1,000 yuan + annual pass for the whole family (5 people);
Three third prizes/group: 500 yuan + family annual pass (5 people);
100 winners of the Excellence Award: Participate in the exhibition of works and receive a ticket to the 2024 Wollongong New Year Temple Fair.
The first, second and third prize works will be handmade by a Zigong special lantern master, presented in the form of lanterns, and will be unveiled during the 2024 Wollongong New Year Temple Fair. Relevant information such as the names of the winners, schools, institutions and instructors will be displayed in the form of light boxes and videos. The 2024 Wollongong New Year Temple Fair is expected to have 400,000+ visitors and an estimated 20 million+ online exposures. After the temple fair, the lantern exhibition works will be given to the creators.
6. Participation methods
1. The preliminary paintings are required to be submitted in the form of electronic images with clear pixels;
2. Paintings and registration forms must be sent to the designated email address before 24:00 on December 22, 2023. The email title is "Light Exhibition Art Works + Author's Name + Mobile Phone Number". Multiple submissions of the same work will be invalid. 7. Precautions
1. All paintings must be original and must not infringe the intellectual property rights of others. Any plagiarism, misappropriation, etc. will result in disqualification.
