Preface
I was researching the Ubuntu Desktop version recently and accidentally saw the printer option, so I was curious and tried it. The configuration was actually successful and I can print normally like Windows. However, this method only supports some printers, not all. I will show you how to check it later.
My method requires the printer to support TCP and open the port. I added the printer through TCP. In theory, printers connected directly through wires are also supported, but I used the company's printer and it was not easy to operate. So please do your own research.
My configuration:
CPU: I5 4500
OS: Ubuntu-22.04 x64
Printer model: HP LaserJet P3015 or P3010 Series

1. Install the driver
First, find打印机选项 in settings and click on it.
Secondly, click on the添加打印机 option in the upper right corner. Enter the printer's IP地址 in the input box at the bottom, and a series of matching options will appear.
Finally, find your printer. I'm the first one here. If you don't know the name of your printer, go to the printer and look it up. Click the settings button on the right.
Select打印机详情
Select从数据库选择驱动, this is a huge printer driver database, if you have your printer, you can use it.
A selection box pops up, with the brand on the left and the series on the right. Just find the one that belongs to you.
Unfortunately, you cannot search, you can only select manually. The series is sorted by letters and numbers, and can be pushed directly to the bottom. For example, mine is HP LaserJet P3015, which is the P3010 Series in the red box. Click Select to install the driver successfully.
2. Other settings
Return to打印机列表 page and can be set to默认打印机.
Select the first 打印机选项.
The other two are进阶选项, please figure it out for yourself.
Summarize
1. There are quite a lot of printers supported by the database, conservatively estimated to be thousands, which solves the embarrassment of finding drivers everywhere on Ubuntu.
