Fault phenomenon:
During normal shooting, the camera battery caused a power outage, and then without paying attention, I directly added new batteries and continued shooting. After the shooting was completed, I checked the data and found that the file shot at 12:18 only had a file of 7U3A4519.DAT with a capacity of 0.

Failure analysis:
In terms of the proportion of free space, the card is not fully filled. After communicating with the customer, the file duration is about 40 minutes (which coincides with the time difference of the next file). So this case faces two problems:
- The Dat file is the original file before Canon encapsulated it.
- Without encapsulation, there would be no mp4 structure moov
Only by determining whether the original Dat file exists, and then repairing it after recovery can the file be viewed normally.
Troubleshooting:
First use the advanced version of CHS Zero One Video Recovery Program to scan. If the original DAT file is found (of course there is no file name), then use the repair module of the advanced version to repair it.
STEP1: Scan directly, select logical I to scan, here is the word "In addition to embedded surveillance disks, it is strongly recommended to select logical disks for other types of video scans ".
What is the difference between logical disk and physical disk?
The physical disk does not have a file system, and the "File System" item in the software is RAW; the logical disk has a file system, such as NTFS or exfat as shown below
Why is it recommended to choose a logical disk?
The minimum operating unit of the file system is "block" or "cluster", and its size is generally greater than 1 sector length. In RAW mode, the minimum operating unit is "sector".
STEP2: Scan the major category -> HD video; scan the small category -> Open the sample file directly (remember the "two identical" requirements for the sample), and then click Scan.
This R6 m2 camera uses special DEC and small blocks, so it is strongly recommended to add samples. If there are no samples, you can click "Advanced Settings" below to set the subframe minimum value, refer to Figure 4.

STEP3:Scan directly and wait for completion. You can see that the program has analyzed the sample and obtained the corresponding parameters, which will help the program establish an accurate model and improve scanning accuracy.
STEP4: Check the data. What we are focusing on is the L5-level file, that is, the original file. The file number 481 is 10G in length. It is most likely the file that the customer wants. Save this file directly.
STEP5: Click Video Repair in the upper left corner of the advanced version to switch the function navigation. First click on the sample file->Open the damaged file->Repair, and wait for the repair to be completed.
STEP6: Check the repair result, you can see that the duration is 42 minutes and 07 seconds. After checking with the customer, it is the lost DAT file, and basically all the data is there. The recovery work is now complete!
