Jasper can be said to be the biggest name inAI writing tools. In just over two years, what began asa way to create and test adshas become a powerhouse of artificial intelligence writing.
I've been using Jasper since it was called Conversion.ai and it's been fascinating to see how far it has grown. I'm not here to talk about its output quality, as it runs on the same model as many of its competitors. Instead, I’ll focus on how it works and the features it has to help marketers do their jobs better.
At this point, we’re going to dive into Jasper.
How does Jasper AI work?

Jasper is built on custom proprietary AI language models and other third-party models such as Cohere, OpenAI, and Anthropic. It then combines data from these models with your brand information and recent search data to generate the best quality output for your use case.

But for now, let's stay focused on the functionality of the app itself. Jasper works in two main ways: you can start with a template or you can start with a blank document.
Jasper template
MostAI text generatorsuse templates. You choose a specific template (e.g., blog post, Facebook ad, Amazon product description), provide some information you need, and click a button. That's it. The tool spits out content and it feels amazing every time.
Create content using any Jasper template:
- Click Create new content from dashboard.
- SelectNew from template.
- Choose a template for your use case.
Your template will ask you to provide some background information so Jasper knows what to write. Fill out everything, select the desired number of outputs, and click Generate.
Here's an example: I used the "Blog Post Conclusion Paragraph" template and asked Jasper to generate a conclusion for this article. After selecting the template, this is what I see.
I filled out all the fields, clickedGenerate and it returned some nice content output.

If you're like me and prefer to create content from scratch, selectNew Document from the dashboard. It will open a blank document similar to Google Docs where you can issue commands to Jasper and work with it.
(Note: This blank document mode was formerly called boss mode, so you may see it described with that term in some places.)
This view turns Jasper into a powerful AI assistant that can take instructions, but you still have choices about how to use it. There are three options:
InFocus mode,you use commands to tell Jasper what to write. For example, you can tell it to write in a specific style or like specific people. It requires a good pattern, so set a structure you want it to follow and then run a command. While it's working, you can get involved and fuss with the output. Optimize your commands, add context to output, and iterate over input as you go. Depending on your specifications, the tool will generate short, medium, or long output. Whenever it stops writing, clickCompose and it will add more content.
Inchat mode, Jasper becomes an artificial intelligence chatbot like ChatGPT . But it has an extra feature: the chatbot allows voice commands, so you can talk to it out loud. If you toggle the Include search option, Jasper will pull data from the Internet when creating content for you. For a more personalized experience, you can teach the chatbot your tone and style. Then, use the Enhance prompt option to refine your prompt and provide context about the output you are looking for.
InPower Mode you will have direct access to Jasper's templates. But this time, they'll have a predefined workflow for creating content from start to finish. Power mode also introduces the editor and places it next to the workflow, so you can add content output to the document.
10 Jasper AI features to help you create content
In addition to basic workflows, Jasper comes with a variety of features that enhance the content creation process by speeding it up, personalizing the output, and adding more functionality. This is my favorite feature of Jasper.
1. 50+ templates
Jasper has templates for basically all your needs, including everything from social media copywriting to e-commerce product descriptions to SEO content writing. Two of my personal favorites, though, are Content Improver and Explain to Kids.
- ContentImprover Breathes life into any boring content, making it more interesting and engaging.
- Explaining to Children will rewrite complex content so it is easy for middle school students to understand.
If you're a newbie or non-writer, these features can take the stress out of clarifying information and ensuring you understand the content quickly.
One more thing: Jasper's templates can be written in more than 30 languages, so you can satisfy your audience wherever and whenever you want.
2. Custom and dynamic templates
Jasper also allows you to develop personalized templates and workflows for your specific needs. This level of customization is a huge asset to advanced marketers.
Using prompts, you can create dynamic templates for demand generation, content marketing, product launch campaigns, and more. Then, if you're on the Teams or Business plan, you can save these templates for a repeatable process. (In the business plan, the Jasper team can even build custom templates and workflows that fit your company.)
3. Brand voice and memory
You can train Jasper to use your brand voice by giving it some text to imitate, and you can even create multiple "voices" so it can produce different results depending on the media you're targeting. You can also create “memories” based on things like your product catalogs and style guides – it then remembers those details so the content it generates is more accurate and authentic to your brand. Of course, it's still AI, so the output still needs some human love, but it gets you one step closer to having AI create truly unique content for you.
4. Browser extensions
Many browser extensions for AI writing tools don’t really work. The Jasper browser extension comes with virtually all the features of Jasper (including branded voice functionality). After you install the extension on Chrome or Edge, you can generate, repurpose, translate, and edit content on any platform.
5. Search engine optimization model
When generating content in a document, you can switch to SEO mode to access Jasper’s Surfer SEO integration. While it costs extra, it helps you optimize your content for better search rankings as you write—showing Surfer analytics next to your documents.
(If you don’t want to integrate with Surfer, Jasper offers some SEO templates for creating optimized titles and meta descriptions, but Surfer will help you ensure you create fully optimized content.)
6. Artificial Intelligence Art Generator
Jasper usesDALL·E 2, so you can create AI-generated art directly within the app. Once you describe your idea and specify details like style and mood, the AI Art Generator will turn it into an art based on your prompts Unique, royalty-free images. Impressively, the outputs are high-resolution, so they are suitable for different platforms and even printing.

7.Recipes
Jasper offers a complete set of pre-built workflows created by marketing experts. Instead of writing something from scratch every time, you can run these "recipes" and when you use commands to create your own workflows, you can save them for a repeatable process.

8. Zapier integration
When youconnect Jasper with Zapier, you can streamline your content production workflow, in the apps you use to run your business Send messages between programs. 9.Team account management
If you manage content for your team, Jasper provides tools to streamline the entire content creation process. You can collaborate with multiple authors, track production status, and manage user access in a secure platform with enterprise-grade management capabilities.
10. Excellent customer service
The last thing that impressed me about Jasper was its customer service. Email response times are fast - when I email them about Teams plans, they respond within minutes. Best of all: it's truly personal service that can help solve any problem you have. Not bad for an AI company.
Jasper AI Pricing: How much does Jasper cost?
Jasper offers three price plans: Creator, Teams, and Business.
- Creator plans start at $49/month when billed monthly ($39/month when billed annually). It includes all templates, unlimited word count, and blank documents (for long-form content). It's intended for one person, and while you can access features like brand voice and campaigns, it's more limited in how you can use it. You also can't access SEO mode or save your workflow as a recipe, and customer support is limited to email.
- TeamsPlans start at $125/mo ($99/mo when billed annually). It’s ideal for small marketing teams as it offers three user seats with freer access to all of Jasper’s features as well as access to SEO modes. You also get chat-based customer support.
- Business plan allows for a more customized, scalable AI platform. So pricing is customized to your needs, but you get access to everything in the other plans, plus unlimited brand voice, API access, single sign-on (SSO), and dedicated Customer Success Manager.

Jasper AI review: Should you use Jasper?
I'm a loyal Jasper customer, so my review is simple: it's a game changer.
But I do want to be clear, it's not all rainbows and butterflies. For beginners, it has a bit of a learning curve. If you're an advanced marketer, you might not even notice it, but for new marketers who just want a quick fix, all the options might be a bit much. Also, it's expensive. I think its sophisticated features are enough to justify the cost, but compared to some of its competitors, it's not a great deal.
And, as with all AI writing tools, the output still requires significant editing. On the one hand, you need to fact-checkbut you also need to make surethat the content sounds human — Me This is especially true for long-form writing.
But all in all, Jasper is impressive. It speeds up your content creation process so you can focus on other parts of your business – I know it helps me.
