Launching Amazon EC2 C7i Instances

Amazon Cloud Technologies announces general availability of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2< /span>) C7i instance. Available only on Amazon Cloud Technologies, these custom processors offer up to 15 percent better performance than comparable x86-based Intel processors used by other cloud providers.

Amazon Cloud Technology Developer Community provides developers with global development technology resources. There are technical documents, development cases, technical columns, training videos, activities and competitions, etc. Help Chinese developers connect with the world's most cutting-edge technologies, ideas, and projects, and recommend outstanding Chinese developers or technologies to the global cloud community. If you haven’t followed/collected it yet, please don’t swipe it hastily when you see this, click Here Let it become your technical treasure trove!

C7i instances are up to 15% more cost-effective than C6i instances. They are an excellent choice for all compute-intensive workloads such as batch processing, distributed analytics, high-performance computing (HPC), ad serving, highly scalable multiplayer gaming, and video encoding. C7i instances offer larger instance sizes (up to 48xlarge) and the latest DDR5 memory. Additionally, customers can now connect up to 128 EBS volumes to a single C7i instance. In comparison, previous generation C6i instances allowed up to 28 EBS volumes to be attached to a single EC2 instance. These features allow you to process larger amounts of data, scale workloads, and improve performance compared to C6i instances. C7i instances support the new Intel Advanced Matrix Extensions (AMX), which accelerates matrix multiplication operations for applications such as CPU-based ML. C7i instances will also be available in multiple bare metal sizes for high transaction and latency-sensitive workloads (coming soon). The C7i bare metal size also supports built-in Intel accelerators: Data Streaming Accelerator (DSA), In-Memory Analytics Accelerator (IAA), and QuickAssist Technology (QAT). These accelerators are used to facilitate efficient offloading and acceleration of data operations and optimize workload performance.

C7i instances are available in the following Amazon Cloud Technology regions: US East (Ohio), US East (N. Virginia), United States West (Oregon), Europe (Ireland), Europe (Spain), and Europe (Stockholm).
