At the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit held early this morning, Qualcomm officially announced the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which will become the standard processor for the 2024 Android flagship.
It is reported that Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is Qualcomm’s first mobile platform carefully designed for generative artificial intelligence. The biggest upgrade of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor is the AI engine, which can run generative AI models on the device. It will support more than 20 AI models in the initial launch.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor is based on Qualcomm Kryo 64-bit architecture and uses 4nm process . The main specifications are as follows:

The performance of the new 8 Gen 3 is 30% higher than the previous generation, and the energy efficiency is 20% higher. It also provides a 25% improvement in GPU performance and a 20% improvement in energy efficiency. Adreno 750 GPU supports hardware ray tracing and 240 FPS gaming.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 also supports 5G and comes with the Snapdragon X75 5G modem, LPDDR5X RAM support, UFS 4.0 support, Wi-Fi 7, Quad HD+ display support (up to 144Hz refresh rate) and 4K resolution at 60Hz refresh rate. It also has Bluetooth 5.4 and supports a 108 MP camera that records up to 4k video at 120 FPS.
