According to Yahoo News , a spokesperson for artificial intelligence company Hugging Face wrote in an email on Friday:
The AI community in China is excellent and we would like them to have better access to HF, but there is currently nothing we can do about government regulations.
The Chinese AI community is incredible and we wish their access to HF was better, but there’s not much we can do against government regulations for now
It's unclear when Hugging Face's access restrictions began. Yahoo reported that as early as May this year, users had complained about connection problems on HF's forum. There are also reports that Hugging Face has been completely unavailable in China since at least September 12th.
Hugging Face is known as "GitHub" in the field of machine learning. Its community provides extremely rich machine learning resources and is said to host more than 365,000 open source artificial intelligence models.
