Loongson supports LoongArch architecture KVM virtual machine for Linux 6.7

In the multiple Linux kernel versions that have been released, Loongson engineers have been committed to implementing more kernel functions for the LoongArch architecture. So far, the performance of LoongArch CPUs is not comparable to x86_64 or Arm hardware, but it is slowly becoming more practical, and the architecture support is becoming more and more mature.

According to the latest code submitted by Loongson engineers , the Loongson Git branch of the Linux kernel has submitted all its initial KVM support (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) code to the loongarch-next queue to welcome the Linux 6.7 merge window in about a month. Kernel-based virtual machine support.

This set of patches provides all basic KVM support code for Loongson CPU. This KVM support relies on LoongArch's virtualization extensions and is the first virtualization method supported by LoongArch.

Although KVM virtualization support may not be practical at present considering the current LoongArch CPU performance level, as performance improves and Loongson expands in the cloud/virtualized server field in the future, KVM virtualization support will become very important. Therefore it is necessary to prepare in advance.
