Google announced a new security feature in May this year that can promptly notify users if unknown Bluetooth tracking devices, including AirTags, are found around them.
Google issued a press release today announcing the official launch of the feature. If an unknown Bluetooth tracking device is detected around the Android phone user, the Android phone automatically issues an alert. Users can click "More Info" in the notification to view a map of the tracker's last seen location, and use the "Play sound" function to make the tracker sound a beep.
Apple and Google jointly submitted a proposed industry specification in May to help combat the misuse of Bluetooth location-tracking devices for unwanted tracking. This first-of-its-kind specification will allow Bluetooth location tracking devices to be compatible with tracking detection and alerts across iOS and Android platforms. Major tracker brands including Samsung, Tile, Chipolo, eufy Security and Pebblebee have expressed support for the draft specification.

In the future, Find My will form an independent network, and the addition of third-party equipment will enrich the territory of Find My Network.
