How to temporarily disable McAfee antivirus protection on your computer
Disabling McAfee antivirus is actually very simple. All you need to do is turn off the protection temporarily, or you can even set it to automatically turn on after a certain amount of time.
To disable MacAfee, right-click the McAfee Antivirus icon in the icon section of the taskbar and click the "Open McAfee" option in the context menu to open the application, or search for the application from the Start menu.
Next, on the McAfee window, click the My Protection tab to display the sidebar. Then, find and click on the “Live Scan” option on the left sidebar to proceed.
Then, on the Live Scan screen, click the Close button. This will display a separate overlay window on your screen.
Now, if you want the protection to be enabled automatically, click on the drop-down menu and select your preferred duration. If you want to enable protection manually, select the "Never" option. Then, click the "Close" button in the lower right corner of the pane to disable McAfee's real-time scanning.
After disabling real-time scanning, click on the "Scheduled Scan" option on the left sidebar just below the "Real-time Scan" option. This will open a separate window on your screen.
