In fact, during the two months of summer vacation, the employees of Hejing hardly felt the difference between "vacation" and "semester", not because we have been away from the university campus for too long, but because we get along with teachers every day In the process, there was no obvious feeling of "holiday".
So this year, we want to do such an event as a little bit of our thoughts on Teacher's Day.
From the publication of this article to September 12, 2023 , Hejing will give away 10 free places to hold data science intramural competitions and 10 free places to hold data science teaching and training workshops (see Later), support teachers in various disciplines and majors to enrich practical teaching.

02 Data Science Campus Competition
The data science competition has always been Hewhale’s signature column, and promoting learning through competition is also an important part of practical training and teaching in colleges and universities. Many teachers will tell us that students are easy to "talk on paper". Although they have taken all the classes that should be taught, they still can't put them in the actual combat environment, let alone the application. It is difficult to have competition under the current severe employment situation . force. So competition may be the straw they need to hold on to.
Hewhale has been conducting data science competition business since 2015. Both the competition platform and operational services are complete and mature. This year Hejie has also participated deeply in many classic competitions such as the 2023 China University Computer Design Competition and the 2023 China University Computer Competition. But we think it is more important not only to help the teachers to run the competition well, but also to help the teachers build up the ability to organize the competition themselves - it is better to teach a person how to fish than to teach a person to fish.
As for the intra-school competition, in fact, as the name suggests, it refers to a data science competition within the scope of the school. Its advantage is that it is more flexible and targeted . On the one hand, the corresponding materials and competition questions can be customized according to the students' current cognitive level. On the other hand, the overall operation will not be too time-consuming and laborious. If a competition atmosphere can be created, perhaps It can also help students win awards in higher-level competitions.

Therefore, for intramural competitions, Hejing will not only provide a competition platform, online development platform, and computing power resources, but will also support the entire process of operation before, during and after the competition. Teachers who have no experience in running competitions are welcome to experience it boldly.
Note: Due to the large difference in computing power resources required by different categories of competitions, data analysis competitions and whales can provide all computing power, and other categories (such as machine learning, deep learning) and whales can support part according to actual conditions.
03 Data Science Teaching and Training Workshop
The data science teaching and training workshop can be regarded as a lighter data science competition, and it is also a more cross-disciplinary data science practical teaching + practical training activity . The activity cycle is about 1-2 days.
From the "Four New" construction to the "101 Plan", under the background of the country's vigorous advocacy of the new generation of information technology and the interdisciplinary integration of disciplines and majors, local colleges and universities have also begun to improve the setting of "data science + X" related courses, but often There are some common problems. For example, teachers need to have a multi-disciplinary background, and it is difficult to start courses; the practical content of the courses is mostly based on past classic data/cases, and the iteration cycle is long, and it is easy to derail from social applications, etc.
The form of workshop can also innovate the teaching mode. Through a practical activity combining learning and practice, students can experience the application of data science in this subject, and can also exercise students' ability to solve real-world problems. Previously, Hejing and Nanjing University jointly organized a humanities data analysis workshop to help students engaged in humanities research establish data thinking, understand the nature and meaning of data in case studies and practical operations, and learn to use appropriate methods to obtain effective data information. 04 Registration method
Registration will end at 12:00 on September 12, 2023. Due to limited energy and cost, the data science intramural competition and the data science teaching and training workshop will each provide up to 10 places, please understand.
There is no limit on the number of teachers who can sign up for the same school;
If multiple teachers from the same college sign up, the event may be held together depending on the actual situation;
