Scratch Drawing Tutorial: Vector Portrait Drawing Method

        Your eyes didn’t lie to you, this officer is pure vector graphics, I live from 10pm to 2am, it’s really hard! If you don't believe me, look at the picture below.

        The disassembly diagram is as follows:

        The leaves on the hat are the national emblem of "A country" in the game (not "China", don't get it wrong)

        After reading so much, do you want to learn?

1. Establish a structure

①When you get the original manuscript, your first step is to establish the structure, which is the stroke. as the picture shows:

        Infrastructure without manuscript

        Notice that midline? Strictly speaking, this is not a structure, it is a preparation for coloring, see the picture below:

        The disassembled diagram of the head structure that has been filled in, the face is composed of 3 figures (not counting the hair and neck)

        ②According to what I just said, add the outline for coloring on the basic structure (you can also fill the basic structure and then add the coloring outline according to the situation, but the latter requires skills, and the former is suitable for exercise). The specific experience needs to be explored by yourself, so I won't say more here.

2. Color filling

        At this point, you have established a basic structure or a coloring outline, and the rest will be very simple, I believe most of the community members will (it is still more difficult to color the outline, the simpler the color and the fewer the outlines).

        The most commonly used color pickers

        Yes, just use the well-known color picker. Of course, you can also color yourself (the choice is not fixed, it is decided according to personal preference). The difficulty is the position of the color, sometimes if you select the color corresponding to the position, the effect is not as good as modifying or toning by yourself.

3. Depicting light and shadow

        Please note that this step is the most critical!

        In order to achieve the simulation effect, we will add some graphics:

        This kind of graphics can make up for the shortcomings of left and right gradients and up and down gradients, which is more practical

        I call it "inside-outside gradient". Its biggest feature is that it can change with the change of aspect ratio, which is also impossible for bitmaps. Please refer to the picture below:

        Graphical distribution of the "inside and outside gradient" of the head

        Adding it will be very abrupt at first, so add a few layers of "inside-out gradient" graphics with neutral colors until the object feathering is added.

4. Combination trimming

        This step can be completely omitted as it is for convenience. If you draw a vector image and don't want others to use it freely, you can turn it into a decoration, that is, dismantle it all. But if I need to revise after the painting is finished, combined trimming is particularly important.

  1. First combine the same organs together, such as eyes, mouth, nose, ears, etc.;
  2. Combining larger-scale parts, such as heads, hats, tops, etc.;
  3. All the "inside and outside gradients" of the same part can be combined for easy modification.

Five, the icing on the cake

        We only finished the head without any clothing. In order to be more beautiful, it is necessary to add clothing. See below:

        The top below is directly omitted

        Pay attention to the front and back ordering between layers! As shown, the hat and collar should be above the head, and the top should be below it. Then put it together and you're done.
