On MacOS, Finder displays files without a path by default. When you enter a folder, only the name of the folder will be displayed, as shown in the figure below:
So how to get or display the full path of the file? There are five ways to display the full path of a file in MacOS.
The first method: use [Terminal] Terminal to obtain the full path of the file.
Open the terminal, drag and drop the file or folder to the terminal command line, and the full path will be displayed.
The second method: Use the [Display] setting of [Finder] to display the full path.
Open [Finder], find [Display]->[Show Path Bar] in the menu bar, or use the shortcut key [option+command+p] to display the path bar.
The third method: use the terminal command line [defaults write com.apple.finder _FXShowPosixPathInTitle -bool TRUE;killall Finder] to display the full path, it is recommended to copy and paste directly.
Open [Terminal], copy and paste the above command, and press Enter to succeed.
If you need to cancel the path display, enter the command [defaults delete com.apple.finder _FXShowPosixPathInTitle;killall Finder] on the terminal command line to restore the default display. It is recommended to copy and paste directly.
Remarks: The command may not be executed successfully, please repeat it several times to succeed.
The fourth method: Use [Display Profile] to view the full path of the file.
Right-click the file and select [Show Profile], or select the file and press the shortcut [command+i], you can call up the profile menu to view the path and file name.
Remarks: This method is a bit tasteless, and the above operations must be repeated every time the path is viewed, which is a bit cumbersome.
Fifth: shortcut key option+command+c
This is the easiest way, use the shortcut key option+command+c to copy the path.
