The upgrade will cover Mercedes-Benz's NMA platform, including four derivative models including CLA, EQA/GLA and EQB/GLB. At the same time, from 2025 onwards, Mercedes-Benz's electric C-Class and GLC models will adopt the new MB.EA-M platform. It is worth mentioning that Mercedes-Benz introduced the self-developed eATS 2. electric engine and a new 800V high-voltage charging system in the upgrade of the EVA2M platform.
In addition, the gearbox will also be changed from a single speed to a two-speed, so that the output and power consumption can be adjusted more dynamically and reasonably. According to media reports, after Mercedes-Benz upgrades to the 800V high-voltage system, the charging speed of EQE and EQS platform models will support 200kW, which is a significant improvement compared to the current charging speed limited to 170kW.
Since the upgrade generates less heat, the vehicle will be able to maintain a higher charge rate for a longer period of time, which will also significantly reduce charging times for owners.
