I recently re-read a book "The Physicist Walks Wall Street", and I also re-read "The Wolf of Wall Street" by the way.
The Wolf of Wall Street, I am most interested in three points:

Junk customers: civilians who have no money but want to get rich. Just like lottery players who often buy lottery tickets.
Garbage employees: Many people are forced to take this job because they have nowhere to go. I remember that there was a female sales champion in it. At that time, she was unemployed, had two sons, children had to pay tuition fees, and had no money. The male protagonist handed her 10,000 US dollars. She was so grateful that she fell to her knees and cried bitterly. I am deeply impressed by the plot of shaping the story and setting an example.
So, as long as your product-customer-employee match, you can form a business. Don't complain about customer garbage or product garbage, it must be caused by mismatch. High-level products-high-level customers-high-level employees, this is business, mid-level products-medium customers-medium employees, this is also business, junk products-junk customers-junk employees, this is also business.

There is another storyline in "The Wolf of Wall Street" that I remember deeply. It's the story about the pen: an employee is trying to prove how good the pen is, but it just can't be sold. And another employee just said: I want you to sign me.
Yes, create demand, not capacity. This is my consistent principle.
I remembered that I participated in a QQ group/WeChat group in the past, in which many so-called CIOs of large companies discussed two topics for 20 years: process specification and data specification. I said let's talk about these innovations in e-commerce and online customer relations, but they said they don't want to discuss these flashy things. If you don't even do the most basic things well, what's the use of doing those fancy things. So I quit the group. I often say that if you can't see something clearly for ten years, then don't read it. If you don't know who the idiot is at the table, chances are you are the idiot.

The big hermit hides in the court, the middle hermit hides in the city, and the small hermit hides in the wild.
As the saying goes: gods come from conferring (Jiang Ziya conferring gods), immortals come from cultivation (catch up and fill in), and Buddhas come from practice.
Therefore, the Buddha has always approved of walking in the secular world, walking into the world of mortals, through walking, traveling thousands of miles of wind and rain, seeing thousands of people, seeing the sky - glory and wealth - wind and rain, rain, whatever you want - everywhere Smiling faces are flattering and flattering, and I have seen the earth-the darkest moments in life, only then can I see my true self, understand how much I am, and understand power/money/family/love... Only then can I become a Buddha.
Buddha is a person of great wisdom. Not only can he know himself, he can also know others. Not only can he know, he can also achieve the unity of knowledge and action. This is Buddha. Sakyamuni said: Buddhas have one hundred thousand Buddhas and one hundred thousand kinds of appearances.
But cultivating immortals pays attention to hiding in deep mountains and old forests and being a hermit. This is what I call Xiaoyinyinyinye. As soon as he entered the world of mortals, he was involved in the atmosphere of power, money, sex, fame and fortune, and everything was ruined in a hurry.

Book: "Siddhartha". This book also talks about the protagonist's practice in the secular world, power, money, beauty, and family affection, all experienced before becoming Gautama from Siddhartha.

There is also a scene in "The Wolf of Wall Street" that I am quite impressed with: the actor gave a motivational speech, everyone made crazy phone calls, the actor distributed bundles of dollar bills to everyone on the spot, and there was a carnival, cakes , clown jugglers, bands, strippers....
I quite understand them. I can quite understand why the circle of securities, futures and investment is so chaotic.
A group of people go to the WTO: money, power, luxury goods, red wine, beauty, sex, marijuana, blue pills, Di, rock and roll, drag racing, desert off-road, long-distance running....
This feeling is like: the uncomfortable feeling of being extremely tired but unable to fall asleep.
I also recommend that you read "The Wolf of Wall Street" before watching Hayao Miyazaki's "Looking and Spirited Away".

On the contrary, reciting the Buddha's name, kowtow, and offering incense are not necessarily practices.
I am reminded of the so-called "Sushi Immortal" in Japan.

Taoists like the three books "Laozi", "Zhuangzi" and "Book of Changes" most. Although I am a Buddhist monk, I often read these three books repeatedly.
I copied the first chapter of "Zhouyi" "Qian Gua" here:
Do not use Qianlong.
Look at the dragon in the field, look at adults.
A gentleman works hard all day long, and is vigilant at night, without blame.
Or jump in the abyss, no blame.
The flying dragon is in the sky, and it is beneficial to see the adults.
Kang Long has regrets.
