Use GetDate to extract the data coordinates of the curve on the picture

When we are doing research or writing a thesis, it will involve the problem of extracting the curve on the pdf into data and then verifying and calculating it. So Xiao Luo found a very efficient and completely free software (GetData) when extracting data. Let me briefly talk about how to use this software. Finally, Xiao Luo will provide a link at the end of the article, hoping to help everyone.

1. After installation, open the software first.

2. Select the file in the interface.

In this option, you can see that this software can open the following file formats.

3. After we select a picture file that needs to extract data and open it, the following interface will pop up. In this interface, the scroll wheel of the mouse can be zoomed in and out.

 4. Set the reference coordinate system. Since the maximum value of the abscissa of our graph is 5000, the maximum value of the ordinate is 250, and the minimum value is not zero, we can set it as shown in the figure below.

Take my picture as an example. When setting the coordinate system, first click the minimum value of the X-axis to set it to 0, and then click the maximum value to set it to 5000. The same is true for the setting of the Y-axis coordinates.

 5. After setting the coordinate system, you can use the automatic capture to directly click on the curve to get the point coordinates of the curve.

You can also use the method of drawing points to calibrate each point.

6. If you accidentally touch or want to delete data when taking points, please use the eraser function to erase unnecessary data.

 7. If you want to obtain multiple independent curves, you can use ctrl+A to quickly create a new curve, and you can change the name, type and color of the curve when creating the curve.

 8. Export data

It can be saved as an Excel table when exporting data, but this table cannot be edited, we can copy it to a new table
