This time we are sharing the passenger and freight volume and ownership data of various means of transportation in prefecture-level cities compiled from the "China City Statistical Yearbook" from 2000 to 2022! The data year is from 1999 to 2021, and the statistical objects are cities at the prefecture level and above. The formats are Shp and Excel, involving two statistical calibers of the whole city and municipal districts. There are 14 indicators in total , including :

Passenger and cargo volume by mode of transport:

  • Road Passenger Traffic (1999-2021/city/10,000 people)
  • Passenger volume of water transport (2001-2019/city/10,000 people)
  • Civil Air Passenger Traffic (2001-2019/city/10,000 people)
  • Road freight volume (1999-2021/city/tons)
  • Waterborne Freight Volume (2001-2019/city/10,000 tons)
  • Civil air cargo and mail volume (2001-2019/city/ton)
  • Total passenger traffic (1999-2014/city/10,000 people)
  • Railway Passenger Traffic (1999-2014/whole city/district/10,000 people)
  • Total Freight (1999-2014/city/district/10,000 tons)
  • Railway freight volume (1999-2014/whole city/municipal district/10,000 tons)

Ownership of buses and taxis:

  • Annual total passenger traffic of buses (electric vehicles) (1999-2021/city/district/10,000 passengers)
  • Actual number of public taxis in operation at the end of the year (1999-2021/district/quantity)
  • Bus ownership per 10,000 people (1999-2015/municipal district/vehicle)

The following are the details of the data:

02  Data description

① The statistics of the yearbook are the data of the previous year, so the statistics of the 2000-2022 "China City Statistical Yearbook" are the data of 1999-2021;

② The statistical indicators of the "China City Statistical Yearbook" have changed in 23 years, and they are not consistent every year. For example, the water transport passenger volume under the city's caliber is only counted in the 2002-2020 yearbook!

③ "China City Statistical Yearbook" counts the data of cities, and non-urban administrative units and non-prefecture-level administrative units and above are not included in the statistics. There are a total of 74, specifically: Xing'an League, Xilin Gol League, and Alxa League , Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Greater Khingan Mountains, Jiyuan City, Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Xiantao City, Qianjiang City, Tianmen City, Shennongjia Forest District, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Wuzhishan City, Qionghai City, Wenchang City, Wanning City, Dongfang City, Ding'an County, Tunchang County, Chengmai County, Lingao County, Baisha Li Autonomous County, Changjiang Li Autonomous County, Ledong Li Autonomous County, Lingshui Li Autonomous County, Baoting Li and Miao Autonomous County, Qiongzhong Li and Miao Autonomous County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Qianxinan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Ngari Prefecture, Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture Autonomous Prefecture, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Boertala Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, Bayingoleng Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, Aksu Prefecture, Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture, Kashi District, Hotan District, Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture , Tacheng District, Altay District, Shihezi City, Alar City, Tumushuke City, Wujiaqu City, Beitun City, Tiemenguan City, Shuanghe City, Kekedala City, Kunyu City, Populus euphratica River City, Xinxing City, Taiwan Province, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Macao Special Administrative Region.

④ Due to factors such as the adjustment of administrative divisions, the data of some prefecture-level cities in some years may be missing. For prefecture-level cities with missing data, a null value is used in Excel, and a 0 value is used in Shp, that is, a value of 0 indicates that the data is missing, rather than a data value of 0.

⑤Shp data coordinates are WGS1984 coordinates.

⑥The Shp file uses the administrative divisions of prefecture-level cities in 2021 provided by the official account of "Shudu Chengshi".
