Last time, in order to install a Linux system in the computer, Intel RST was turned off in the BIOS. As a result, Windows 11 cannot boot anymore! I did various searches on my mobile phone and performed various operations on my computer, and finally repaired Windows. Let me share my experience!
Intel RST
What are RSTs?
The full name of RST is "Rapid Storage Technology". It is turned on by default on most computers, and it can speed up your computer. However, most systems except Windows do not support RST, so it must be turned off before Linux can be installed.
Close RST
1. Turn on safe mode
Before closing RST, be sure to remember to set the Windows boot to "safe mode" in advance! Otherwise, turn off RST and then boot Windows, and you will get the "INACCESIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE" blue screen.
First, open msconfig.
Once opened, switch to the Bootstrap tab.
Once "Secure Boot" is checked, OK.
2. Enter the BIOS
The way to enter the BIOS is different for each computer. However, there is a general method: run CMD with administrator privileges, enter shutdown /r /fw /t 0
, and then the computer will automatically restart and enter the BIOS. The computer BIOS of each model is slightly different. My computer is Lenovo Xiaoxin 14-2019. The following steps are for reference only.
3. Close RST
Use the left and right keys to switch the tab to "Configuration", then select "Storage" and enter.
Select "Controller Mode", select "AHCI mode" in the pop-up window, and press Enter. At this time, a red warning pop-up window may pop up, prompting "all information will be deleted". In fact, they are all scary, just "Yes" is enough.
After the operation, return to the initial panel, switch to the "Exit" tab with the left and right keys, select "Exit Save Changes", and then "Yes" to save the settings and exit the BIOS.
4. Turn off Safe Mode
At this point, reboot into Windows. If you have enabled the safe mode in advance, then the computer can boot normally, and then turn off the safe mode after entering, the method is similar to the previous opening of the safe mode, open msconfig and uncheck the safe boot, and it will return to normal after restarting No more details here. However, if you didn't open it ahead of time like me, then get ready to get a blue screen!
What to do if a blue screen occurs after improper operation
If your computer has a blue screen when you turn it on, it is because you did not enable the safe mode in advance according to the above steps before closing RST. At this time, you need to follow the steps below to repair.
1. Enter Windows RE
Once in Windows RE, click on Troubleshoot.
Then select "Advanced Options".
Click "Startup Settings".
2. Manually enter safe mode
Click Restart.
After restarting, the computer will display this interface. Press the number "4" on your keyboard and wait for Windows to enter Safe Mode. In safe mode, Windows automatically repairs the boot. Then Windows can boot normally!
end
The above is the whole process of closing Intel RST and repairing the blue screen.
Give a like, okay~\(^o^)/~
