4.11! Yes, it's not April Fool's Day.

After eight RC versions, recently, Linus Torvalds finally announced the release of the official version of Linux  Kernel 4.11 in an email.

"Up until last week, we were making various minor fixes, and now it's here, albeit a modest upgrade," Torvalds said in an email.

The email shows that Linux Kernel 4.11 includes a lot of updates and optimizations, such as updating half of the drivers (mainly network drivers, including some fixlets), and others including architecture upgrades, generic network optimization, system file repairs, etc.

At the same time, the merge window for the Linux Kernel 4.12 release has officially opened.
