Recent word usage notes

        Recently, when I used word to edit documents, I found many problems that did not appear before. After consulting relevant websites and forums many times, I learned some methods and techniques that I had not used before. This blog will make a record of these contents.

1. After changing the format of one of the titles, how to quickly update the formats of other titles associated with it.

  If the format setting of Heading 1 is modified to imitate Song typeface, number four, and red font, how can the subsequent Heading 2 also follow this formatting quickly:

Method 1: Select Heading 1, right-click "Heading 2" in the format bar, and select "Update Heading 2 to Match Selection" from the menu, so that the format of Heading 2 is the same as that of Heading 1;

Method 1: If you select the "Modify" option in the right-click menu of Heading 2, and select the "Automatic Update" check box in the pop-up "Modify Style" window, then after the format of Heading 1 in the text is modified, the style of subsequent headings associated with it will be automatically changed, and there is no need to manually update the style.

2. Convert page breaks (continuous) to section breaks (next page):

Place the cursor before a section break (continuation):

Select "Layout" and set "Section Start" to "New Page":

Change "applies to" to "whole document" to change the section break (continuous) to the section break (next page):
