WiFi module

From the point of view of the communication interface, the serial port WiFi realizes the conversion between the serial port protocol and the WiFi protocol, connects the WiFi through the serial port for network communication, and can issue control commands through the AT command set or APP; USB WiFi also realizes protocol conversion, but because it is USB (Universal Serial Bus), SKYLAB generally provides device drivers, which can be used directly;

从应用场景来看,UART接口WiFi模块主要用于需要串口透传的物联网应用:智能电网、智能交通、智能家居、手持设备、电子称、POS机、工业控制等领域如智能排插、智能灯控、工业无线控制、传感器网络、家庭自动化、安全ID标签、WiFi探针、WiFi热点广告等应用场景;USB接口WiFi模块则被广泛集成到平板电脑、笔记本、广告机、智能电视 OTT/IPTV/DVB/机顶盒、运动DV、工控机、迷你行车记录仪、虚拟现实、无线存储、打印机、车载前/后终端、机器人、智能网关、仪器仪表(水、电、气)智能城市及其他需要网络WiFi化的电子产品中;

If the data volume is larger, the data transmission application that requires a transmission rate can give priority to the USB interface WiFi module;

From the perspective of transmission distance, when the transmission power is both +18dBm, the transmission distance of the serial port WiFi module is far less than that of the USB interface WiFi module; if it is a slightly longer distance data transmission, the USB interface WiFi module can be given priority;

From the above key points, in fact, you can quickly choose the WiFi module for data transmission according to your own application. For data transmission with small data volume, short transmission distance and no special requirements on transmission rate, UART interface WiFi module can be given priority; for data transmission with requirements on transmission rate and transmission distance, and large data volume, choose USB interface WiFi module. After the interface type of the WiFi module is confirmed, it is also necessary to pay attention to the size, package, frequency range, data rate, transmission rate, transmission distance, communication interface, power supply voltage, antenna interface, etc. of the WiFi module.
